Getting married during a pandemic is challenging, but Catherine and Zach were determined. Original plans were adjusted resulting in an intimate celebration with just their immediate family and bridal party at an inn on the coast of Maine.

It was a beautiful {almost} fall day at the Newagen Seaside Inn in Southport for Catherine and Zach's wedding day. When I arrived at the Inn, hair and make-up was underway in the girls' room and the guys were hanging out in their rooms on the other side of the Inn. The relaxed atmosphere reminded me why I just love capturing smaller celebrations. Everyone was enjoying being together, soaking up the moments of the big day, while all those last minute details were being taken care of by the wonderful staff at Newagen.

The ceremony was held under a gorgeous wood arbor down by the water. A perfect "to the point" ceremony filled with a lot of happy tears and sweet moments. Cocktail hour on the sun filled patio was next. Catherine and Zach wanted to spend this time celebrating with their family and friends instead of taking pictures. The timing was perfect, after cocktails was that pretty #goldenhour light, the most dreamy time for pictures. I just love when my couples take the light into consideration when planning their day. At their engagement session, I was chatting with Catherine and Zach about how on their wedding day, things can get a little hectic and we wouldn't have a lot of time for tons of posed portraits and things wouldn't be as relaxed as it was at their engagement session. I was wrong! Once plans changed (venue, size of wedding and timing) we were able to spend that time and capture some amazing portraits and some really great candids. Pictures were followed by dinner. A classic room filled with beautiful flowers grown by the mother of the bride. After a delicious meal, several heartfelt toasts, a messy cake cutting, the party continued in the "Pine Room". An old school tavern filled with the best games. Candlestick bowling, table shuffleboard, ping pong, billards ect... add in beers, including a cooler of home brews from Cat's father, a couple of bottles of bubbly, some warm pub pretzels and a lot of competitive spirit. What a great way to end this fabulous day. I am so happy for this fun, adventurous, gorgeous couple. 2020 has not been an easy year, yet they were up for the challenge and their wedding day was epic.

I am thankful Catherine and Zach chose me to capture it for them. Here are just a little glimpse...
