FAQ

How many pictures do you take?

I never count or limit myself. On average you’ll receive 40 edited images for an engagement shoot, 300-400 edited images for a classic full day wedding and 200 edited images for simple half day coverage. I do snap a lot more than that, but I do you the favor of taking out the outtakes like blinks, test shots, duplicates and the like. All the images are edited for minor imperfections, exposure and white balance. I love black and white and will often include a ton of black and white images in your gallery. I will also include the color version of that image as well.

Can I extend our coverage on the day of the wedding?

Usually this is unnecessary as 6 weeks before the wedding we met to set up a pretty detailed "day of schedule" and know what we can fit in for the collection you selected. However things can come up and delay/lengthen the day. Rates are $150 per extra hour if you choose to extend your coverage.

What kind of gear do you use?

I have always been a Canon girl starting my first film camera, an AE-1 way back in 1987.. Here is what I usually have in my bag and I always bring backup equipment.
Canon 6DII
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 III L
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 II L
Canon 85mm f/1.8
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Canon 100 Macro

Do I have to order prints through you?

No! While you do have the option to order from your online gallery from my favorite professional print lab, you have printing rights to your images. Of course I prefer that you do not order your prints from a "box store" or one of those awful instant machines. If you do not order from your online gallery, I recommend, www.mpix.com

I don’t want to spend an hour taking family photos, do I have to?

Of course not. In fact, because of how efficiently I work on the day of and the help I give you in preparing your family picture list, most family photo sessions on a wedding day are complete within 20 minutes. At our 6 week out meeting we create a pretty detailed shot list and schedule. I want to get the posed portraits you want and not spend time taking groupings that you will never print.

Do you have liability insurance?

Absolutely and I know a lot of venues require it! I’ll be happy to provide your venue with a proof of coverage.

I've seen your pictures from a variety of weddings, but can we see a whole wedding day from start to finish?

This is one of the most important things you can ask photographers you’re interviewing so the answer is yes! Anyone can make a pretty website with a few nice images. You’ll want to make sure that I know how to take amazing photographs in any situation, of anyone and of anything. Wedding photographers need to work fast and be able to excel in all scenarios. Changing light, weather, dark venues, I've got this! I have a few galleries and videos on my website of full weddings. Also check out my blog !

We love you, but will we love your 2nd photographer?

You will! All of the second photographers I work with are pretty awesome. Second shooters are so helpful with capturing the little details and different angles during the key parts of your day. I always shoot like I am working on my own to make sure to capture every moment. The images from the second photographer are just icing on the cake!

When will we get our pictures?

Depending on the time of year, my turn around time ranges from 4-8 weeks. If you would like, I can post a few sneak peek images on social media within a few days and a full blog post within a week.

How do we book you and what's your payment plan?

To make sure that you’ve snagged me for your wedding date, I require a 30% retainer and electronically signed wedding contract. I am flexible with breaking up payments along the way and you'll have an online portal to keep track of payments and dates of our meeting. I typically break the invoice into 4 payments. The invoice balance is due 30 days before the wedding. Payment is non-refundable, if you need to move your wedding date, I can work with you. If you cancel your wedding, funds can only be refunded if I am able to book a wedding of similar coverage on your date.
